Flinders Automotive Solar Team (FAST)

The Flinders Automotive Solar Car (FAST) solar car, Investigator IV, participated in and completed the 2023 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. The car is a student project and it was student team who drove the car from Darwin to Adelaide, a 3,000km journey, in 6 days.

Makerspace Adelaide

Makerspace Adelaide is a volunteer-run community-making space where people of all ages and backgrounds. We invite you to come and have a chat about all the ways we help support people to learn, create, and innovate using our tools and expertise. 

We will be showing off a variety of things that have been made in the space, from digitally fabricated items using our laser cutters and 3D printers to more traditional crafted items using our textile, woodworking, or metalworking spaces.

Paper Plane Competition
Make a paper plane operating within the International Rules for paper plane long distance throwing. We have instructions for the world record design. Use an A4 sheet of paper and a limited amount of sticky tape, then launch your plane in the gym towards the end of the day.

Maths and STEM
Make Silver Rhombic Dodecahedra. Take origami to the next level with tessellation. When combined these shapes will make an impressive design.
